Rusty Derelict Ship on Veraval Tidal Flat
Peeling orange and deep brown rust coats the hull of a skeletal ship stranded on a wet tidal flat. Soft, diffused afternoon light falls through thick, gray fog that obscures the distant harbor mouth. The water surrounding the vessel is still, creating a perfect mirror that doubles the image of the decaying metal and the low sky. Patches of green algae rest on the submerged sections, against the flaking paint. The light softens the edges of the rusted ribs along the waterline. The reflection of the ship's broken mast stretches downward, merging with the dark, wet mud. One patch of dried seaweed rests on the lower deck, catching the pale light.
