Rugby Flanker Driving Through Misty Harbor Tackle
by Floyd Campos
Thick white mist rests on the stone surface of a harbor quay near Multan, softening the edges of the weathered concrete blocks. In the center of this damp, early autumn morning, a rugby flanker drives forward with explosive kinetic energy. The player, viewed from behind, wears a dark jersey and grips a brown leather ball tightly against their side. Opponents in lighter gear collide with the flanker, their bodies merging into a tangle of limbs and fabric. The bright open daylight struggles through the heavy fog, casting diffuse, pale shadows across the wet stones. Mud splashes up from the player's cleats, marking the rough texture of the ground. A coiled rope hangs loosely from a metal bollard to the right, its frayed fibers visible in the gray light. Steam rises from the flanker's shoulders where the cold air meets the heated fabric, blurring the dark collar against the pale fog.
