Rugby Scrums in Minna Muddy Fields

A tightly packed rugby scrum dominates the foreground as players lock shoulders on a churned, clay-rich pitch in Minna. Thick mud coats their jerseys and clogs the gaps between their boots, while gray storm clouds hang low overhead, diffusing the midday light into a flat, even glow. An orange life preserver hangs loosely on a nearby chain-link fence, its bright color contrasting sharply with the dark earth tones of the field. A faded medal ribbon, perhaps from a previous tournament, drapes over the fence wire, catching a dull sheen. The players strain forward, muscles tensed under the weight of the opposing pack, while rain begins to bead on the wet grass blades. A puddle in the foreground reflects the gray sky and the blurred legs of the players above it.
