Red Clay Path Through Singapore Vineyard Rain in between vineyard trellises in Singapore

Red Clay Path Through Singapore Vineyard Rain

by Henrik Harrington

Wet red clay forms a stepped path cutting through rows of vineyard trellises in Singapore. Rain has saturated the soil, turning the ground into a deep, rust-colored surface that reflects the flat, white glare of the noon sky. The trellis wires stretch horizontally across the frame, creating a rigid grid against the soft, organic curves of the vines. Low-hanging haze blurs the distant horizon, merging the green foliage with the gray atmosphere. Droplets rest on the leaf surfaces, glistening under the diffused light. The steps are worn smooth by seasonal labor, their edges softened by the constant moisture of the wet season. A shadow from a nearby trellis post falls across the clay, marking the precise angle of the overhead sun. The path leads forward into the mist, disappearing between the green lines.
