Quebec Plateau Snow Pockets Amid Thick Mist

Bright midmorning light cuts through thick mist hovering over a high plateau in Quebec. Fresh snow pockets rest in shallow depressions across the dark, wind-swept ground. Wind has scoured the surrounding earth into smooth, rippled textures beside the white drifts. Below, successive layers of foothills fade into the white fog, creating deep vertical distance. Patches of exposed brown moss and gray rock appear where the snow has not settled. A sharp edge of a snowdrift catches the sunlight, revealing individual ice crystals against the soft gray backdrop of the distant mist. The landscape stretches endlessly under the clear dry air of the midnight sun season.
