Pale blue light from low-hanging monsoon clouds falls through the deep shadow beneath a shop awning in El Tigre. A metal rack holding colorful nursery plant warranty cards stands in the shade, its edges catching a thin rim of rising dawn. Rain-slicked pavement reflects the dim glow, while damp air settles on the glossy cardstock. The cards display vibrant greens and yellows against the grey morning, their plastic sleeves catching the faint rim light. Beside the rack, water droplets rest on the metal frame, and the awning fabric sags slightly under the weight of recent rain. One droplet rolls down the edge of the rack, leaving a wet trail on the pavement below.
