A flock of pigeons gathers on the slick, gray concrete sidewalk of a Chicago street corner during the early morning hours following a rain shower. The overcast sky casts a diffused, cool light over the scene, reflecting off the wet pavement and the puddles accumulated in the cracks of the pavement. The birds peck at small debris scattered near the base of a brick building facade, their feathers ruffled slightly by the damp air.
