A wet Parisian sidewalk glistens under the flat, diffuse light of early morning, reflecting the muted gray of the sky and the dark stone of Haussmannian facades. A row of colorful umbrellas stands inverted in a rusted metal rack near a corner bakery, their fabric slick with raindrops. Two pigeons peck at crumbs scattered near the curb, their iridescent necks catching the weak light. A passerby in a yellow raincoat walks past, their reflection distorted in a puddle.
