Orion Above Frozen Peat Bog Midnight Sweden
by Anna Gordon
Deep midnight light reveals the Orion constellation piercing low-hanging gray clouds over a vast frozen peat bog. The landscape stretches flat and dark, its surface textured with ice-crusted hummocks and patches of dormant brown vegetation. Along the distant harbor edge, a scattered line of warm lanterns glows against the cold air, marking the boundary between the wild bog and the built environment. The sky dominates the upper half, a deep indigo canvas where the three belt stars of Orion stand sharp and bright against the faint auroral shimmer. Low clouds drift slowly, partially veiling the stars while allowing their light to filter through. The lanterns reflect faintly on the icy water near the shore, creating small points of orange warmth that contrast with the overwhelming blue and black tones of the arctic summer night.
