Humid air hangs heavy over a narrow game trail in Manitoba as soft, overcast light reveals the intricate geometry of a moth's compound eye. Thousands of hexagonal facets cover the dark surface, each one reflecting a muted patch of the gray sky. Fine yellow pollen grains rest on the raised edges of the ommatidia, creating a textured landscape of gold against deep charcoal. The eye dominates the frame, filling the view with its raw, elemental complexity. Behind the insect, blurred green foliage suggests the turn of seasons, where summer leaves meet early autumn tones. One grain of pollen rests precariously on the rim of a facet, catching the diffuse light and highlighting the sharp, wet edges of the eye's structure.
