Moonlit Clock Tower in Surreal Ghost Town Ruins

by Amber Escobar

Cold moonlight bleaches the skeletal remains of a depot clock frozen at ten past two. Tall, toppled columns lie scattered across the ground, their stone surfaces rough and weathered by late spring winds. Sharp nettles push through the cracks in the broken masonry, their jagged leaves catching the pale light. The night sky above is a deep, starless void, pressing down on the desolate landscape. Along the extreme edges of the frame, miniature buildings the size of shoeboxes sit in perfect rows, creating a stark contrast against the massive, decaying architecture. Shadows stretch long and sharp across the dusty floor, showing the stillness of the stopped hands. The texture of the crumbling brickwork is visible under the harsh, silver illumination, revealing every chip and fracture in the stone.
