Mirrored Prayer Candles in Kumasi Shrine Light

Pale morning light falls through sheer curtains to strike rows of prayer candles with mirrored backs inside a Kumasi shrine. Amber wax bodies glow while their reflective surfaces fracture the beam into scattered points of brilliance. Deep shadows pool across the wooden floorboards, resting against the warm highlights on the candle holders. The turn of seasons shows in the cool tone of the ambient light mixing with the candle warmth. Each mirrored surface reflects a distorted segment of the nave, multiplying the small flames into countless points that fall across the shadowed walls. Dust motes hang suspended in the beams, visible against the dark interior.
