Warm candlelight spills across a row of wooden icons lining a narrow cloister passage in Ikeja. The flickering flames cast deep, moving shadows against the rough plaster walls, highlighting the gold leaf details and painted faces of the saints. Rain streaks blur the small high windows, softening the city glow that begins to filter through the glass. The wooden floorboards reflect the dancing orange light, leading the eye down the corridor. Heavy curtains hang still at the ends of the aisle, their fabric absorbing the dim ambient light. One wax drip hardens on the edge of a brass candle holder, marking the passage of time in the quiet, solemn space.
