Midsummer Night Sky Reflected in Flooded Salt Flat

Deep indigo twilight dominates the upper third of the frame where a dense canopy of stars hangs heavy over the horizon. Below, a sheet of rain-slicked water on the salt flat creates a perfect, glassy mirror, duplicating the celestial sphere with sharp clarity. The ridgeline near San Antonio appears as a jagged black silhouette against the fading blue sky, separating the earth from the heavens. Tiny ripples disrupt the reflection only where raindrops strike the surface, sending faint concentric circles outward across the dark water. The wet salt crust glistens with a metallic sheen, catching the last ambient light while the heavy rain creates a continuous, visible curtain of falling droplets that blur the distant landscape.
