The figures moving downward appear solid until their lower legs dissolve into thick, viscous wax that pools at the base of the steps. This molten substance drips slowly onto the slick stone, reflecting the mixed glow of the streetlights. The rain coats the scene in a glossy sheen, turning the melting forms into distorted silhouettes against the dark urban backdrop. A puddle near the kiosk's corner mirrors the distorted legs of the lowest commuter, blending the liquid metal with the gray water.
