Honeyed evening light falls across a heavy iron float valve mounted on a concrete bench at a Jiangxi stockyard loading ramp. Grease stains mark the metal arm, resting against a trough filled with muddy water. Scattered straw and grain husks litter the damp earth around the base, pressed into the frozen ground. Long shadows stretch across the rough concrete, highlighting the texture of rust and the grit of spilled feed. One brass fitting glints against the darkened metal, marking the point where the water supply connects. A small puddle near the bench edge reflects the orange sky.
