The deep indigo wash of Marrakech twilight settles over a narrow alleyway in the Medina, where the warm, amber spill from a nearby riad’s interior spills onto the damp stone pavement. A young man in a faded white jellaba pauses by a weathered green door, balancing a woven basket of fresh bread against his hip while his other hand adjusts the brass handle of a hanging lantern. The light catches the intricate geometric tiles framing the doorway, contrasting sharply with the rough, plastered walls. In the shadows of the alcove, a few terracotta pots hold resilient greenery, their leaves glistening with recent rain.
