Maintenance Cradle Under Xian Viaduct at Dawn

Cold silver dawn light floods the space beneath a massive steel and concrete viaduct in Xian. A metal maintenance cradle hangs suspended, tilting slightly as a crosswind sways the structure. Ropes and heavy tools are lashed tightly to the safety rail, their shapes stark against the gray morning. Late autumn leaves in muted browns rest on the distant trees, while the sky above remains perfectly clear and pale. Leading lines formed by the viaduct beams guide the gaze toward the swaying platform. The rough texture of the concrete pillars contrasts with the smooth, painted steel of the crane arm. One reflection of the silver sky glimmers on a wet patch of the metal floor.
