Lamu Railway Viaduct After Rain

Concrete pillars rise steeply from wet, terraced earth, supporting a massive railway viaduct that cuts across the rolling hills. Water droplets rest on the gray metal railings and glisten on the rough, textured surfaces of the bridge deck. The sky above holds a clearing blue, allowing soft, diffused light to illuminate the scene without harsh shadows. Green vegetation rests on the slopes beneath the structure, their leaves darkened by the recent storm. A narrow maintenance walkway runs along the side, its metal grating reflecting the pale afternoon sky. The engineering stands in stark, forceful contrast to the organic curves of the terraced landscape. A final drop of water slides slowly down the edge of a steel beam.
