Knife Maker Grinding Blade in Ashkelon Workshop

North window light cuts through the dusty air of the Ashkelon workshop, illuminating the figure of a knife maker seen from behind. The artisan leans forward, pressing a steel blade against the grinding wheel of a water-powered mechanism. Fine metal dust hangs in the bright shafts of morning light, swirling around the worker's shoulders and the wooden structure of the wheel. The steel glints sharply where it meets the rotating stone, while the rest of the room remains in soft shadow. Rough wooden beams frame the upper left corner, and the floor is scattered with fine grit. One fleck of polished metal rests on the edge of the workbench, catching the light.
