A pair of weathered hands kneads a mound of golden turmeric and chili powder on a scarred wooden worktable in a Kathmandu spice shop. The summer evening light falls through the open doorway, casting long, warm shadows across the scattered piles of dried herbs and grains. Small brass measuring cups sit near the edge of the table, reflecting the dimming ambient light from the street outside. Fine red dust coats the surface of the table, highlighting the deep scratches and wear marks from years of use.
