Under the sodium-orange glare of a streetlamp, a makeshift roadside stall operates from folded metal tables stacked beside a weathered wooden cabinet. The harsh light catches the flaking paint and rust on a cabinet latch, revealing a worn interior where a pair of pruning shears rests casually next to a small pile of glossy eggplants. A customer in a heavy wool sweater leans in, their face partially obscured by shadow, examining the produce with intent. In the background, the blurred streaks of vehicle headlights cut through the dark, while a single tambourine hangs forgotten from a hook, its jingles still.
