Hong Kong Dim Sum Tray with Tea

Soft, overcast light falls through the wet-season window, illuminating a bamboo steamer tray resting on a dark, polished coffee bar counter in Kennedy Town. The tray holds three compartments of steamed dim sum: glistening dumplings with translucent skins and golden-brown buns. Beside the bamboo sits a small ceramic teapot with a dark glaze and a matching cup filled with amber liquid. The surface of the counter reflects the faint glow of a corner lamp, creating a pool of warm yellow against the cool gray daylight. Steam rises visibly from the hot buns, curling upward into the diffused air. Water droplets rest on the window pane in the background, blurring the street view outside. at the edge is the condensation forming on the rim of the ceramic cup.
