Cool blue twilight fills the interior of a dairy milking parlor in Hohhot, casting a uniform, dim light across the space. A long wooden potting bench dominates the foreground, its surface stained deep green from years of soil and sap. The wood grain is visible beneath the paint, worn smooth by constant use. Along the bench, rows of empty plastic seedling trays sit in neat alignment, waiting for the next cycle. Large industrial windows line the back wall, framing the fading sky outside. Metal pipes of the milking equipment run along the ceiling, against the organic texture of the bench. The light from the windows falls across the green stain, highlighting the rough edges where paint has chipped away over seasons. One shadow stretches from a metal clamp onto the wood.
