Late Afternoon Milking Parlor Lane with Coiled Hoses

Soft overcast light falls through high windows into the dairy milking parlor near Imphal, illuminating a wet concrete lane where thick rubber hoses coil in damp gray loops. The slick floor reflects the muted sky, against the rough, plastered walls. Along the left wall, a large chalkboard displays handwritten yield figures and clipped notes in white and yellow chalk. Warm interior shadows stretch across the floor, deepening as metal stalls recede into the distance. A small pool of water gathers at the base of a metal pipe, while a wet droplet rests on the edge of a coiled hose, waiting to slide down the smooth surface.
