Green Potting Bench in Hermosillo Dairy Parlor

Stained emerald green paint covers the wooden potting bench, bearing the heavy texture of years spent mixing soil and tending plants. Sunlight streams through the high windows of the dairy milking parlor in Hermosillo, pooling in thick honeyed puddles across the dusty concrete floor. Late summer heat hangs heavy in the air, visible in the way the light catches floating dust motes and warms the rough-hewn wood grain. Tools rest haphazardly on the bench surface, their metal handles gleaming where the sunset reflects off the nearby metal stanchions. Deep shadows gather in the corners between the milking stalls, against the bright, urgent glow of the harvest time. A final streak of orange light touches the chipped edge of the bench leg.
