Copper-toned light washes over a weathered phone booth standing at the edge of a concrete underpass in Johannesburg. The booth's glass panels reflect layers of peeling paint and vibrant street art in jagged strokes of red, blue, and yellow. Behind it, a neon sign from a nearby bar casts a sharp, electric glow that contrasts with the fading natural light. Heat shimmer distorts the pavement surface, creating a wavy visual effect that rises from the hot ground despite the winter chill. The metal frame of the booth shows rust and dents, evidence of long exposure to the elements. One cracked tile lies near the base, catching the copper reflection. The scene holds a quiet tension as the city transitions from day to night.
