Golden Silk Spider Web Near Luxor Temple
by Natalie Horn
Soft overcast light washes the ancient stone blocks of Luxor Temple, turning the warm sandstone surfaces a muted beige. In the foreground, a golden silk orb weaver spider anchors itself to a massive, glistening web. Raindrops rest on the silk strands, refracting the flat afternoon sky into tiny, scattered prisms. The spider's golden legs grip the wet threads with visible tension, its body angled alertly against the breeze. Behind the insect, blurred pillars of the temple rise into the gray sky, their carved hieroglyphs softened by the shallow depth of field. Water beads roll slowly down the vertical silk, catching the diffused glow before falling toward the dry, dusty ground below. The final drop slides off a lower strand, leaving the web trembling in the humid air.
