Interlocking wooden beams form a rigid geometric lattice stretching across the vast interior of a restored New York train terminal. Pale winter light bounces off surrounding walls, casting soft, diffuse illumination across the dark grain of the timber. The pattern creates a sharp contrast between the warm, aged wood and the cool, neutral tones of the space. Below, the polished floor mirrors the overhead structure in muted, elongated reflections that stretch toward the edges of the frame. The composition emphasizes the structural tension of the intersecting lines, while the high angle reveals the precise craftsmanship of the joinery. One shadow falls across a joint where two beams meet, highlighting the texture of the wood grain.
