Sharp noon light floods the arid ground near Amer, Jaipur, casting stark shadows across scattered shale splinters. A brass-rimmed hand lens rests atop these jagged grey fragments, its glass surface reflecting the intense sky. Beside the rocks lies a weathered field notebook with a blue cover, pages slightly curled by the dry early autumn air. The horizon stretches flat and distant, framed by converging lines of stone and shadow that lead toward a vanishing point. Dramatic clouds pile high above, their dark undersides against the bright white glare. A fine crack runs through the lens casing, highlighting the tool's frequent use in this rugged terrain.
