Frost and Feathers on Pará Reservoir Catwalk

Hard sunlight strikes the concrete catwalk running along the storm surge barrier, revealing a thick layer of white frost clinging to the metal railings. Scattered among the ice are dozens of gull feathers, their gray and white plumage contrasting sharply against the pale rime. The water below reflects the bright sky, its surface rippling gently after the storm has passed. Cables stretch across the frame, taut and dark against the washed-out sky, anchoring the structure in place. The symmetrical lines of the barrier extend toward the horizon, showing the scale of the infrastructure. A cluster of blue feathers rests on a frost-covered bolt, catching the light at the edge of the walkway.
