Frangipani Blooms on Vietnam Cliff Edge at Dawn

Misty diffused light washes over a frangipani tree clinging to a salt-sprayed cliff edge in Vietnam. Thick clusters of creamy white and pale yellow blossoms hang heavy against the grey, wind-sculpted rock. The bark is deeply fissured and dark, against the soft, waxy petals that seem to glow in the low light. Below, the ocean is a sheet of dark steel, barely visible through the thinning mist. The sky above is a perfect, pale blue, devoid of clouds. Salt crystals glitter on the rough stone surface near the roots. One cluster of flowers rests heavily on a low branch, its petals catching the faint morning hue.
