Deep shadows cloak the sandy foreground while a sharp rim of pale dawn light outlines the silhouette of a fisherman straining against a heavy net. Low-hanging clouds hang heavy in the early autumn sky, diffusing the weak morning glow into a soft, cool blue. Glistening droplets rest on the coarse fibers of the net, catching the faint edge of light. The rough texture of the sand contrasts with the smooth, dark fabric of the wet gear. One strand of the net stretches taut across the frame, catching the first hint of electric blue sky above the heavy cloud layer.
