Fern Droplets on Salt Crystals Conakry

Glistening water pearls rest on the sharp, green spine of a fern frond. These droplets rest directly upon a rough bed of jagged white salt crystals, their edges catching the faint, directional beam of a projector. The light cuts through predawn darkness, illuminating suspended dust particles that float in the air like tiny stars. Deep shadows swallow the background, leaving the wet textures of the plant and the crystalline salt in sharp relief. The shallow depth of field blurs the surrounding darkness, focusing attention on the delicate curve of the fern and the heavy weight of the water. One droplet hangs precariously from the tip, reflecting the projector's glow against the dark wall.
