Delicate, feathery frost ferns spread across the cold surface of a glass pane, their intricate fractal branches forming in the dead of winter. The ferns rest directly upon a scattered bed of coarse, translucent salt crystals lining the rim of the window frame. Cool, pale morning light from the pre-dawn sky washes over the scene, casting soft, diffused highlights on the icy structures and the granular salt. The background dissolves into a smooth, out-of-focus gray, isolating the sharp, crystalline details of the frost and the rough texture of the salt against the smooth glass. One, sharp point of the fern's tip catches the light, creating a tiny, bright glint against the muted winter tones.
