Drummer Sticks on Snare Before Evening Set

Wooden drumsticks lie parallel across the metallic mesh of a snare drum, their tips pointing toward the edge of a dimly lit stage. Reflected light from nearby water washes over the scene in cool blue tones, highlighting the worn lacquer on the sticks and the tension of the drumhead. Heavy overcast skies outside cast a soft, diffuse glow that silhouettes the instrument against the brighter background. The turn of seasons is visible in the subtle chill of the light and the heavy, muted colors of the stage floor. A faint ripple of reflected light dances on the drum's rim, at the base of the quiet moment of anticipation before the performance begins.
