Cracked Mud Riverbed Under Night Rim Light

Deep shadows swallow the dried riverbed while a sharp rim of light traces the ridges of cracked mud. The ground splits into geometric polygons of dry earth, their edges glowing faintly against the darkness. Dust hangs low above the surface, visible as a soft haze that blurs the boundary between the soil and the night air. From a high vantage point, the layered foothills near Jinan recede into the distance, their slopes fading into the void. The early autumn air leaves the landscape bare, with no vegetation to break the monochrome texture of the parched bed. One fissure runs diagonally across the foreground, catching the last sliver of light before vanishing into the gloom.
