Commuters at Vijayapura Crosswalk in Steel Blue Light

Steel-blue ambient light washes over a busy crosswalk in Vijayapura as city lights begin to glow along a shuttered arcade. Commuters stand in groups, their silhouettes framed by the rectangular openings of subway windows behind them. Fine drizzle silvering the pavement creates thin, shimmering reflections of the overhead streetlamps and the dark shapes of the crowd. The dry season air leaves the stone arcade walls dusty and matte against the wet ground. Faces are partially obscured by shadows, yet the tension of the rush hour pause is visible in their stillness. A puddle near the curb catches a sharp, elongated reflection of a distant neon sign, at the base of the scene in the specific urban texture of the evening.
