Cold Dawn Sheep Sorting Alley Kyrgyzstan

Pale silver light from the early winter dawn falls across a narrow livestock alley in Kyrgyzstan. Corrugated metal walls line the concrete floor, where scattered straw and faint hoof prints mark the ground. Metal drafting wickets stand rigid along the lane, their edges sharp against the wind whipping through the space. Dark wool marks stain the wooden posts near the gate, while a thick layer of lanolin coats the iron latch, turning it a dull, waxy grey. The low angle of the morning sun defines the functional geometry of the structure, with leading lines converging toward the distant opening at the end of the alley.
