Washed Goat Hoof Trim Stand in Colorado Feedlot

by Chase Vang

Dappled sunlight falls through overhead leaves, casting shifting patches of bright gold and deep shadow across a wet, metal goat hoof-trim stand. The steel surface glistens with residual water droplets and streaks of dried dust, evidence of a recent washdown before the next animal enters. Beside the stand, the concrete floor of the feedlot lane remains damp and gray. In the background, chain-link fences and wooden posts recede into layers of depth, blurring slightly against the hazy air where fine dust or steam hangs suspended in the midmorning light. Early summer greenery frames the upper edges of the view, against the industrial rust and silver tones of the equipment. One puddle near the stand's base reflects the bright sky above.
