Mist rests on the narrow, cobblestone alley of Barranco, diffusing the pale dawn light into a soft, gray haze. A local vendor, wrapped in a bright yellow rain poncho, stands beside a wooden cart laden with terracotta clay pots, their earthy red tones contrasting sharply with the damp, gray stone walls. The vendor’s hands, rough and stained, carefully arrange the pots, while a small, worn coat brush rests casually on the cart’s edge, unused. In the background, the blurred outline of a colonial balcony emerges from the fog, its wrought-iron railing glistening with moisture.
