Circular Maar Lake at Winter Twilight Near Davie Village

Deep indigo water fills a perfectly circular volcanic crater, its surface smooth and glassy under a cloudless winter sky. Snow blankets the surrounding rim in thick, wind-sculpted drifts that contrast sharply with the dark lake. A faint rim light outlines the far edge of the crater, separating the shadowed basin from the fading twilight. The scene shows the stillness of a cold evening, with no visible ripples disturbing the water. Bare branches of nearby trees reach toward the darkening sky, their silhouettes stark against the pale horizon. The texture of the snow appears granular and packed, shaped by persistent winter winds. A final shadow stretches across the ice, marking the edge where land meets water.
