Boy Climbs Mango Tree in Winter Fog

Dense white fog rests on the air around a young boy gripping the rough, dark bark of a mango tree. His hands and knees press against the textured trunk as he pulls himself upward. Behind him, a wet meadow reflects the soft, cool glow of distant city lights beginning to pierce the winter twilight. The ground is covered in short, dormant grass and scattered fallen leaves, hinting at the dead of winter. The moisture in the air creates a hazy veil, softening the edges of the foliage while keeping the boy's determined posture sharp. Reflections of the fading sky shimmer on the wet surface of the water nearby, mirroring the faint orange glow of the urban horizon. One wet leaf rests on the boy's shoulder.
