Blue to Pink Hydrangea Cliff Edge North Macedonia in along a salt-sprayed cliff edge in North Macedonia

Blue to Pink Hydrangea Cliff Edge North Macedonia

by Shawn Walsh

Pale morning fog drifts low across the rugged limestone of a North Macedonian cliff edge, softening the harsh salt-spray marks on the rock face. A dense hydrangea bush dominates the foreground, its large flower heads transitioning from deep azure blue on the outer petals to a soft, dusty pink near the center. Bright midmorning light reflects off the unseen water below, casting a cool, even glow that highlights the waxy texture of the leaves and the delicate, crinkled surface of the blooms. Tiny droplets of moisture rest on the green sepals, catching the light like scattered diamonds. The stems appear sturdy against the wind, holding the heavy clusters upright. One pink petal rests against a rough, grey stone ledge at the bottom right corner.
