A weathered iron deadbolt hangs from the peeling white paint of a traditional wooden door in Bergen, catching the soft, diffuse glow of the morning after rain. The metal surface shows patches of rust and old grease, contrasting sharply with the damp, dark wood grain of the surrounding frame. One drop of water rests on the edge of the keyhole, refracting the gray sky above in a tiny, distorted circle. The texture of the worn varnish on the adjacent door panel reveals layers of history beneath the current coat.
