Autumn Twilight Colonnade Tel Aviv Canal

Wet stone arches line a narrow canal as twilight deepens into blue hour. Rain slicks the weathered surfaces, turning the pale masonry into a mirror for the soft, reflected glow of distant streetlights. Overhanging branches with turning orange and gold leaves drip moisture onto the stone steps below. The water in the canal moves slowly, distorting the inverted shapes of the columns. Converging lines of the colonnade draw toward a distant, illuminated doorway. Droplets rest on the rough texture of the limestone, catching the cool ambient light. at the edge is a single drop sliding down a carved keystone, leaving a dark trail on the dry stone beside it.
