Anti-Crepuscular Rays Over Rufisque Fog

by Stephanie Schaefer

Pale beams of sunlight stretch across the sky, converging toward the point opposite the sun near Rufisque. Low marine fog blankets the horizon, softening the edges where the rays emerge. Dust hangs suspended in the air just above the ground, catching the reflected light from the water below. The composition remains stark and minimalist, focusing entirely on the geometry of the light against the gray mist. Colors shift from muted grays to faint golds where the sun strikes the particles. A thin line of dark vegetation marks the bottom edge, at the base of the vast expanse of sky and light.
