Aerial Norway Braided River Channels Turquoise Sea
by Morgan Combs
Turquoise water spreads beneath a drone positioned directly overhead, revealing a complex network of braided river channels cutting through the Norwegian landscape. The water shifts from pale aqua to deep blue as it navigates the sandy riverbeds and gravel bars. Heat shimmer distorts the air above the exposed land, creating a wavy, melting effect on the ground surface. Bright midmorning light reflects intensely off the water, blurring the boundaries between the channels and the surrounding terrain. Layers of depth recede into the distance, where the intricate patterns of the river system merge with the horizon. A small, solitary structure sits near the edge of the water, its geometric lines against the organic flow of the surrounding streams. at the edge is the crisp, jagged shadow cast by a low rock formation onto the wet sand.
