Aerial desert ridge tracks near Thimphu prayer flags

Directly overhead, a wind-sculpted ridge cuts through a winter landscape of dry, ochre earth. Faint tire tracks curve across the arid surface, their shallow grooves revealing the pale, dusty soil beneath the crust. Human figures appear as small, dark specks moving along the path, their scale reduced by the altitude. Above the ridge, a string of colorful prayer flags stretches horizontally against the cloudless blue sky, their rectangular shapes fluttering slightly in the breeze. The tropical bright light casts short, sharp shadows that define the ridge's jagged edge. The ground texture shifts from smooth, wind-blown sand to rough, rocky patches where the tracks break. A final shadow from a prayer flag pole falls across the dusty track, marking the boundary between the sacred line and the barren path.
