Wet pavement in Lima’s Miraflores district reflects the cool, diffused light of early morning, with puddles mirroring the pastel yellow and pink facades of colonial-era buildings. A street vendor adjusts a metal toolbox resting on the back of a tricycle, its rusted edges glistening with recent rain. Nearby, a woman in a raincoat walks past, her umbrella dripping onto the slick asphalt, while steam rises from a nearby chifa restaurant window. The scene is alive with the quiet bustle of the city waking up, where the damp air softens the vibrant colors of the surroundings. A discarded newspaper lies half-submerged in a puddle, its ink bleeding slightly, adding texture to the reflective surface.
